The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ
“Yet grace (God’s unmerited favor) was given to eachof us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure ofChrist’s [rich and bounteous] gift.” Ephesians 4:7(AMPC)
“We want to tell you further, brethren, about the grace (the favor and spiritual blessing) of God which has been evident in the churches of Macedonia[arousing in them the desire to give alms];” 2Corinthians 8:1 (AMPC)
Grace will not arouse the desire that it is not ready to provide for. It arouses you so that you can get exactly what is in store for you. The reason why you desire the need is that grace as already prepared the supply of that need. If grace can arouse a desire, what else can grace arouse?
“For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes. For the giftsand calling of God are without repentance.” Romans11:27-29 (KJV)
Grace Cannot Be Stopped
“Then note and appreciate the gracious kindness andthe severity of God: severity toward those who havefallen, but God’s gracious kindness to you—provided you continue in His grace and abide in His kindness;otherwise you too will be cut off (pruned away).”Romans 11:22 (AMPC)
“And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” Then God said: “No, Sarah yourwife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelveprinces, and I will make him a great nation.” Genesis17:18-20 (NKJV)
The promises of God do not depend on you to come to pass, they come to pass by His grace. Some of the mistakes that you make God allows them so that His grace can be seen. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of nations. The fact that Ishmaelwas not Sarah‟s son did not stop grace from makingIshmael into a nation. Grace works even when we are wrong because His grace is a result of the promise. Grace is there to fulfill the promises of God over our lives and that is exactly what Grace will do if you keep walking in it. The rejection of men cannot stop grace from accepting you.
The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as Ihave thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand: Isaiah 14:24 (NKJV)
Refrain from doing the things of God with your own energy or you will burn out quickly. Lean on His grace.
Grace To Win Battles
“He sent his word, and healed them, and deliveredthem from their destructions.” Psalm 107:20 (KJV)
“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:22-24 (KJV)
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one;much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life byone, Jesus Christ.)” Romans 5:17 (KJV)
There is no rest for those that fight their own battles. Once you win this battle, you are on to the next. Through grace, you trust God and rest in the confidence of what He has said.
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and tothe word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them whichare sanctified.” Acts 20:32 (KJV)
Let us dissect the above scripture:
to build you up: The word of grace builds you up for enjoyment. The Lord Jesus Christ has saved you from the life of fighting and toiling.
to give you an inheritance: He does not give it to us because we ask for it or we qualify, He gives us the inheritance(provision, protection, healing etc.) because we are His children. Just as a child does not have to ask its mother for food, the mother gives because it is her job.
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:24(KJV)
Grace was freely given to you and you are to receive it freely. When you have seen God fight for you, your response is different the next time you encounter a battle of the same sort. Lazarus died and grace went to get him out of the grave. Grace was not in a hurry to move in this instance because it knew what it is capable of doing and what it was planning to do.
“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” 2 Timothy 1:8-10 (KJV)
“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.” 2Thessalonians 3:16 (KJV)
He is God all by himself not by your works. When He takes over it does not take too long because nothing can withstand His power.
“So David prevailed over the Philistine with a slingand with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.” 1Samuel 17:50 (KJV)
You do not need a sword to kill your enemy all you need is His grace, David had God upon Him and we have God living inside of us, what more do we need? We do not fall out of grace we fall into grace because grace is the foundation and when you are leaning on grace, you are leaning on Jesus. There is nothing stronger than grace not even death.
Grace For Authority
“And he beheld them, and said, What is this then thatis written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?” Luke 20:17(KJV)
By grace, the same stone that the builders rejected became the stone placed in a position of authority. Grace is the authority of God given to you over sin. The grace of God upon your life has delivered into your hands authority over all the power of the devil.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; Inmy name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shallrecover.” Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
